Rising Cost of Insurance and How Agility Can Help

Since the end of 2025 there have been rumored cuts to the Medicaid program that have sparked a pertinent discussion in the political landscape. With cuts to this program and others, the cost of healthcare will skyrocket, with a high percentage of senior citizens losing coverage. Even private insurance is not cheap. Per CMS, between 2023 and 2024, private insurance costs increased by about 9% per person, and prescription drugs were up 8%, and both metrics continue to increase.
Since founding Agility, I’ve had the chance to converse with a lot of people on this topic and it’s hard to hear about the direct impact cuts will have on their daily lives. When lying in a hospital bed or going for a regular appointment, the last thing a patient wants to think about is if the blood test the doctor is ordering is going to push them too far financially, or any debt that they will leave their families if near their end of life. There are a lot of people in this category, in all economic classes, who were hard-working American citizens who toiled their entire lives, and made headways for the United States and even globally.
The purpose of Agility MD and the services we offer are to create a better quality of life for the aging population through improved healthcare experiences and opening flexibility in living arrangements. We recognize that patients and senior citizens are going through these struggles and should only worry about getting and staying healthy and being able to spend their remaining days how they would like (I’ve been hearing about a lot of travel, time with grandkids, and even a lot of entrepreneurship and new hobbies). They should not have to think too much about the financial aspect, and Agility’s service should calm a lot of these concerns.
